GUI JI FRIED CARROT CAKE

Gui Ji Fried Carrot Cake has been around for decades managing by this one-man uncle and do expect some waiting time. While waiting for your food, you can enjoy watching the stall uncle dancing around preparing and frying the carrot cake.Gui Ji offers both black or white Fried Carrot Cake for $3/$4 each and both Black & White for $4/$5. I generally prefer white carrot cake, not to get overpowered by the sweetness. I was served with a generous pile of egg-crusted delicious carrot cake with a smoky and garlicky aroma. You can taste the crispy burnt of the eggs and preserved radish, all caramelize well with the radish cake. Overall, the dish is nice but can’t rank among the top tiers.
